Responsible gambling
Gambling should cost what a night out costs, and no more. Here is how to keep it that way.
Tools on legal sites
- Deposit limits per day, week or month. Lowering applies right away, raising takes time.
- Time limits and reality checks during a session.
- Loss and wager limits on many sites.
- Breaks from 24 hours to several weeks.
- Self-exclusion for longer periods, through the site or your provincial operator.
Warning signs
- Playing again to win back what you lost.
- Spending more time or money than you planned.
- Borrowing or using credit to gamble.
- Hiding your gambling from people close to you.
- Looking for sites where your self-exclusion doesn't apply.
If any of these sound familiar, talk to someone. It is free, confidential and judgement-free.
